Get To Know Dr. Sheng

Dr. Yuchen Sheng is a committed general dentist serving the Stratford, Connecticut community. Her passion for dentistry sparked during her undergraduate years at Florida State University and was cemented through her transformative volunteer work at a free dental clinic. Graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine on the prestigious Dean's Scholarship, Dr. Sheng further refined her skills during a rigorous general practice residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network, specializing in managing complex dental cases and oral surgery.

Always striving for excellence, Dr. Sheng sought advanced training at Spear Education, with a strong focus on full mouth rehabilitation. She excels in transforming patients' smiles using state-of-the-art techniques and materials. A strong proponent of patient education and preventive dentistry, Dr. Sheng ensures each patient is fully informed about their treatment options and included in every step of their care plan. Her expertise also spans a range of restorative and cosmetic dentistry procedures, including dental implants and clear aligner therapy.

An active member of the American Academy of Clear Aligners and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Dr. Sheng keeps abreast of industry advancements to provide the best care possible to her patients. Outside her professional life, she enjoys family outings in Connecticut's parks and cooking for her loved ones. After working in my family dental practice as a certified dental assistant, I took 14 years off to raise my children. I am an avid horror collector who loves her family and her three dogs. I am excited to work for Stratford Smiles in this next chapter of my life.

What to Expect

We’ve worked hard to create an environment that is warm and welcoming. When you first visit Stratford Smiles, you’ll notice that each member of our team loves what they do, especially when it comes to interacting with patients. You’ll be greeted by our front desk staff, who will answer any of your questions prior to your appointment.

Once you’ve checked in and completed any forms, you’ll be taken back to our operatories, where our hygienist and doctor will be ready to get started on your treatment.

Clear and friendly communication is at the top of our list of priorities. If there’s anything you’d like more information about, feel free to ask one of our team members! You’ll always have time to share any questions or concerns with Dr. Sheng and the rest of the team at Stratford Smiles.

Our philosophy of care goes beyond the Stratford Smiles walls. We believe that it’s our responsibility to care for our patients, both in and out of the operating chair, and one of the best ways to do this is to care for the community we’re a part of.

That's why Dr. Sheng sponsors the Milford Christian Academy 5k run to support the school's fundraising efforts. Dr. Sheng has been committed to supporting local community events for many years, believing that it's important for businesses to give back to the communities they serve. Her participation in the MCA 5k run was particularly meaningful as it supported the school's mission to provide quality education to its students.
